On September 11, Elizabeth Strout will make two special appearances in Ravenna, Italy as part of the city's annual commemoration of Dante Alighieri, Viva Dante
At 6:00 PM, Elizabeth will read from Dante's Divine Comedy at the poet's tomb as part of "L'ora che volge il disìo" (The Hour That Turns Desire), a daily reading project that began on September 13, 2020, to mark the 700th anniversary of Dante's death.
At 9:00 PM, she will present a lectio magistralis at the historic Teatro Alighieri as part of Invèl, the storytelling school created by Matteo Cavezzali within the "In cerca di guai" cultural project organized by Ravenna's Biblioteca Classense.
